Lansing, Michigan, United States — The Michigan State University Foundation announced today that it has named Aaryn Richard as the organization’s Communications Manager. Richard will manage the communications strategy for the MSU Foundation and its subsidiaries, including Michigan Biotechnology Institute (MBI), Spartan Innovations and the University Corporate Research Park.
“We are excited to welcome Aaryn to the team,” said MSU Foundation Executive Director, David Washburn. “He is a master storyteller with a proven track-record.”
Before joining the MSU Foundation, Richard served as communications director for MBI, building the organization’s fundraising communications strategy and attracting the attention of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundationto the commercialization of AFEX technology.
“My training as a poet — coupled with my long service as an educator — defines my approach to clear, story-driven communications,” said Richard. “I am eager to tell the Foundation’s story, from its investments in Michigan State University researchers, student entrepreneurs, and innovators, to its commitment to a vibrant and flourishing community right here in the Greater Lansing Area — this is a storyteller’s dream.”
Richard received his Bachelor of Arts from Central Michigan University and his Master of Fine Arts from Colorado State University.
